JUST MIDDLE MANAGER is a wonderful book that has you going "down the yellow brick road" of fantasy, with overtones of leadership qualities, as well as, Biblical undertones, from a variety of interesting characters who guide JUST MIDDLE MANAGER (main character) to the Celestial City of Influence, where he comes to figure out his own leadership style. Along the way, there are "insights" that make you think of your own leadership qualities and how to apply them in your own life. Overall, this book is fun, it makes you look at yourself more closely, and how you might inject these insights into your professional life and your personal life. It is definitely written for people who have a high(er) level of intellect. Nonetheless, a very enjoyable, worthwhile journey, coming out for the better on the other side.
Norman Saib:Definitely NOT for the non-intellectual!
Using this workbook in conjunction with work being done for my Office Team around Difficult Conversations. A great companion to help the team come into conversations understanding not only what they are bringing into the conversations, but helping them identify what others are bringing into the conversations.
Lisa M: Interesting, Good for Team Work

TRUST is much more meaningful than the word alone. Are you leading with TRUST or is it the expectation of your organization? Hulings walks you through the harmonious importance of understanding the impact that TRUST can harbor through all archetypes." "There is a common myth about wolves leading a pack. Are they led from the front or the back? Hulings expounds on different Archetypal structures in JUST MIDDLE MANAGER and encourages you to decide what type of leader you'd choose to be. Leading is leading whether it's done out front or behind your team." "CHANGE is inevitable within an organization. David J. Hulings work with archetypes has not only improved our internal performance—it’s elevated the way I think about leadership, recruitment, and long-term strategic growth.

Hulings' book, The Archetypes and The Drama of Change, provided me with superb insights into how each of my team members, co-workers, supervisor, indeed everyone, tends to lean into one or a few common mental frameworks that inform their view of the world and thus, their responses to situations around them. Now that I understand these archetypes - my own and those of others - my ability to better frame communications with others has been greatly enhanced. I highly recommend Hulings' books and online resources to others.

David Hulings’ Trust! is an accessible and powerful guide for anyone navigating broken trust in leadership. Having experienced trust issues over the years, this book opened my eyes to how the words we choose—especially in difficult moments—can either heal or harm. It helped me reframe tough conversations, and I’m now on a clearer path toward building and giving trust more intentionally.

Face it, change happens, and David Huling's books will quickly become a valued resource to navigate change (whether change is desired or not), utilizing archetypes---your own and those around you. His books are a way to invest in yourself, and you will not be disappointed.

Prior to reading David's work, I knew nothing about archetypes and how they affect human behavior and relationships. The way he defines and delves into the different archetypes has not only helped me understand other people's perspectives but also gave me the tools to better understand myself. Since reading his work, I find myself reflecting on a daily basis how I interact with the world and how my own archetypes shape those interactions. His work is an amazing exploration of human behavior and relationships. I can't recommend it enough.

I started reading “The Archetypes Attend a Funeral” book with my fiancé. We both have truly enjoyed it so far. We’re looking forward to reading more. She said that David has written it to make it very easy to understand! What a great way to honor your son’s time while here on earth. This book is very helpful for me because in difficult times of grief, I’m always at a loss of words and actions. This book is going to help and touch so many!! Great job!
